ROCK'N
S RODEO COMPANY::EXPLAINING OUR RODEO
Nothing is more exciting than professional bullriding.
It is eight seconds of “bite your lip and then scream”
anticipation. Our riders come from all over the country. Rodeo
is the fastest growing sport in the country and Rock’n S
is #1. Families come for an entire evening of entertainment. Our
patriotic introduction with a cowgirl riding and displaying the
American flag to music gets the crowd’s attention. Next
the lights dim and the cowboys are all introduced as the contenders
when they line up in the arena. The cowboys tip their hats and
bend their knees as a local pastor prays. Then a beautiful voice
comes across the speakers with pride as she sings the National
Anthem.
As the lights come on, people are at the edge of their seats.
Before any music, you can hear the bull snort and push the chute
as it waits for his rider. The announcer explains the rules and
name of the game as the first cowboy prepares. You can’t
imagine experiencing for the first time and 150-pound guy trying
to ride a 1500-pound bull from 50 feet away. It’s unbelievable
hearing the bull fight, seeing the expressions on the cowboys
face, and feeling the tingle on the back of your neck as the buzzer
screams. Somehow the cowboy dismounts and throws his hat in the
air victoriously. The crowd is standing up and cheering. Behind
the scenes bullfighters are protecting that cowboy, judges are
scoring that ride, and hands are loading the chutes with more
bulls. Wow, this is way better than watching TV!
Rock’n S Rodeos are sanctioned NABA or the North American
Bullriding Association. What this means is our rodeos follow strict
guidelines made by this association. Our judges, secretary, and
bullfighters must meet special criteria too. Best of all, the
top bullriders come to NABA shows to accumulate points for a $50,000
added money finals in Memphis at the end of the season. When these
cowboys ride---they mean business. You’ll be standing up
too!
Up-beat music, funny jokes, and constant activity keep people
involved. Our hilarious funny man is Brandon Mills from Kentucky.
He keeps everyone laughing with his jokes and skits. During intermission
kids, usually dressed in their cowboy duds, come out in the arena
for games and prizes coordinated by the “cowgirl crew”.
A very talented trick rider performs a spectacular show. Gena
Cox and her horse will make your mouth drop as she hangs on all
different directions. The action never stops.
The best 8 or 10 cowboys come back for the “short go”.
This is the most exciting part of the show. Rock’n S Rodeo
stacks the rankest bulls for the short go. Out of a possible 100
point score, 50 points is based on the bull and 50 points on the
rider. Our bulls come from as far as Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico,
and North Dakota. Kevin Schumacher, owner of Rock’n S Rodeo
Company has contracted his bulls in the US Smokeless Tobacco PBR
Tour as well as the NABA Finals. Those bulls are his pride and
joy. Not many riders usually last the eight seconds in the short
go. At the end of the rodeo, the winners are presented with a
big check and interviewed. Fans follow their favorite riders and
bulls just like any other sport. Some enthusiasts come to get
autographs at the end of the rodeo. Everyone goes home happy after
some all- American family entertainment.
